Chris Hillman Brings Desert Rose to Music City

Chris Hillman Brings Desert Rose to Music City
If you know your Country Rock history, the name Chris Hillman should be a familiar one. As a founding member of the Byrds, Chris was part of the California big bang that spawned the likes of Crosby Stills and Nash, Gram Parsons, Eagles, Emmy Lou Harris and more recently Brad Paisley. In fact both Brad and Emmy Lou were on hand when Chris Hillman and the recently reunited Desert Rose Band (featuring John Jorgenson) stopped in Nashville.

Emmy Lou Harris sat in for a few songs and told the story of Chris Hillman discovering her in a bar and introducing her to Gram Parsons, essentially launching her career. Later Brad Paisley testified to the crowd of largely Nashville royalty that John Jorgenson was his all time favorite guitarist. All the while Chris's Takamine TF450SMSB was making the rounds from player to player. It looked and sounded particularly nice in the hands of Emmy Lou, a long time J-200 player. Walk towards the light Emmy Lou.

Congrats to our old friends Chris Hillman and John Jorgenson on their successful Desert Rose Band reunion tour. We were pleased to be a part of it.
