Grascals Claim No. 1 Spot - Benefit St. Jude
The Grascals new album "The Grascals & Friends " hit number 1 on Billboards Top Bluegrass Albums Chart . It was deserving on a multitude of levels. There are terrific guest appearances by Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels, Tom T Hall, Joe Nichols and Dolly Parton on classic country hits s like "Tiger By The Tail" , "Folsom Prison Blues", "Mr. Bojangles and "The Devil Went Down to Georgia".
But what makes this Grascals project truly special is that Cracker Barrel Restaurants who distribute and sell the album, donate a portion of all album sales to St. Jude Children's Hospital. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. The Grascals have had a longstanding relationship with this facility and are extremely excited to share the success of this album with both patients and staff.
The 3 time IBMA Award winning band have played Takamine guitars from day 1 and were one of the inspirations for the successful flat picker series Taks.
Check out this video of "I Am Strong" from the album. There is nothing we can say in the way of introduction. You just have to hear this inspired song written by Grascal Jamie Johnson - and watch the video.
