  March 11, 2011 -- a fiercely powerful earthquake produced a tsunami that ravaged the eastern coast of Japan. Entire communities were erased from the landscape and the loss of life measured in the tens of thousands. Those that survived the disaster face the bitter reality that their homes, possessions and livelihood were swept away – perhaps forever. Those that lived and worked in the zone of destruction are now tending to the arduous task of rebuilding their lives, homes and communities.
  
  Takamine wishes to lend support to our friends in Japan through the spirit of music with the introduction of the TR340S Tsunami Relief guitar. This limited edition acoustic dreadnought guitar has a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, with the Japanese Flag on the 12th fret of the fretboard, and the poignant phrase “Play for You, Play for All” inscribed on the pickguard. Takamine will donate 100% of the profits generated by the sale of this one guitar to local charities that have the means to put these funds to work where they are most needed.
