Takamine Introduces Tsunami Relief Guitar to support Japan’s Tsunami Recovery Efforts
100% of the proceeds from the sale of this guitar will go directly towards the recovery and relief effort taking place in the wake of the March 11th earthquake and tsunami in northern Japan.
Although Japan received an incredible outpouring of support and resources in the immediate aftermath, the ripple effects of the earthquake and resulting tsunami will be felt for years to come, and they remain in dire need of assistance. The purchase of the TR340S guitar is one way to connect with the people of Japan and provide support to the recovery efforts. This limited edition acoustic dreadnought guitar has a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, with the Japanese Flag on the 12th fret of the fretboard, and the poignant phrase “Play for You, Play for All” inscribed on the pickguard. Taking Back Sunday, an American alt rock band from Long Island, NY, and Takamine endorsers, have created a moving call to action regarding the TR340S that can be viewed on the Takamine website, as well as on YouTube.
All proceeds from the sale of the TR340S will be donated to the Earthquake Reconstruction and Support Activities Fund where it will in turn be applied to the "School Music Revival" program that aids in the replacement of musical instruments and restoration of grammar school music education. “Takamine USA is hoping to promote music's healing power by helping replace the thousands of musical instruments lost in the disaster that were central to the school’s music programs,”
