Over 400 years ago, during Japan's Edo period that was renowned for arts and culture, there was a highway called Nakasendō that stretched from Edo (now Tokyo) to Kyoto. Over 300 miles long, the road hosted travelers on the long journey between these two great cities. As it stretched through the Kiso valley in Gifu, travelers could stop at Magome to rest their horses, feast on soba noodles made with buckwheat that was ground fresh in the water mills that lined the road, and sleep in the many inns that Magome offered. Today in the city of Nakatsugawa, Gifu, this section of the road has been lovingly preserved as an attraction and as a reminder of the fine craftsmanship in this region of Japan.

The Takamine LTD-2017 Magome is a testament to the artful craftsmanship of this region�the very same region in which Takamine guitars are lovingly crafted to this day. A special limited-edition guitar, Magome is an OM-bodied acoustic-electric guitar with a solid spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides. It features a mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard that�s inlaid with an intricate abalone �Legend of the Road� motif. The fingerboard delicately and artfully portrays the Japanese fishing technique known as "Tomozuri" used to catch the Wild Ayu, or "Watermelon Fish" so called because of its similarly sweet, smell and taste. This fascinating technique celebrated within the Gifu Prefecture (where Takamine's hometown is located) utilizes the territorial behavior of the Ayu fish by introducing a live, hooked decoy fish which the angry Ayu will then attack in dramatic fashion. Between the Ayu's extremely spirited nature and the fast-flowing rivers and rapids in which they dwell, pulling in the "Watermelon Fish" is known as a challenging and exhilarating experience.

Tradesman Series "purpose built" guitars are built with luthier selected solid tone woods in our pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades.

The TF740FS OM was conceived as an elegant performance platform for the fingerstyle artist. The 1 7/8" nut width broadens the string spacing at the nut and at the bridge. The slotted headstock gives the guitar a classic look and increases the break angle of the strings over the nut. The neck meets the body at the 12th fret, putting the bridge in the sweet spot of the guitar top for added tonal fullness and depth. Other features include a solid red cedar top, solid Mahogany back and sides, gold with ivory key tuners, ebony fingerboard and gloss natural finish.

C132S

The C132S is handcrafted in our pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades.

This nylon string classical guitar pays homage to traditional classical instruments and follows closely to the original drawings of Antonio Torres. The solid cedar top is supported by traditional ladder bracing and produces a warm tone and plenty of dynamic range. The rosewood back and sides aid in projection. The mahogany neck features a dual action truss rod, which keeps the guitar playing perfectly in any environment. Gloss natural finish provides durability and adds to the beauty of the guitar.

TB10

The TB10 bass is handcrafted in our pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades.

A unique hybrid crossover bass guitar, it retains the 34� scale but the fretboard has the radius of an upright bass, which allows for bowing. It can be played as a regular bass guitar or as an upright with the tail pin extension peg. This fretless instrument produces a tone heavy and fundamental with the rich harmonics you would expect from an upright bass.

Includes Takamine�s Palathetic� pickup, known in the industry as one of the most accurate and natural sounding acoustic/electric pickups. The electronic performance package is beyond state of the art with the Cool Tube� Preamp - the first and only tube preamp in an acoustic guitar.

P2DC

Classic tone, optimum playability and state-of-the-art onboard electronics make playing Takamine�s new Pro Series P2DC dreadnought a thoroughly rewarding acoustic experience. Great projection, balance and harmonic richness resound from its X-braced solid spruce top and sapele back and sides. Other premium features include a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. The unique Takamine split-saddle bone bridge provides faultless intonation and excellent acoustic coupling to the top.

The P2DC also features chrome die-cast machine heads for superb tuning stability, a gloss natural-finish top on satin back and sides, and the highly acclaimed CT4B II preamp system with three-band EQ, volume control and built-in tuner.
