Toby Keith Receives Arnie Award - Launches 2020 Tour
Aside from being one of Toby Keith’s favorite pastimes, golf has been central to the big-hearted Oklahoman’s charity efforts, as his annual Toby Keith & Friends golf scramble and gala has raised $13.7 million dollars for his OK Kids Korral home-away-from-home for Oklahoma's sickest kids and their families.
Toby’s career-long contributions were recognized recently when he was awarded Golf Digest's Arnie Award while playing at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament, Presented to "golfers who give back," the Arnie - named for the legendary Arnold Palmer - was bestowed this year upon Keith, tour pro Jordan Spieth and NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young.
Golf came into play with Toby again recently when a round he played with Clint Eastwood inspired what some consider to be one of Toby’s finest compositions, Don't Let the Old Man In which Clint featured in his latest film, The Mule. The iconic Willie Nelson seems to agree as he recently covered the tune for his soon to be released 70th album titled First Rose of Spring.
All of this comes as Toby announces the initial 25 date slate for his 2020 Country Comes to Town Tour where Toby will once again be putting his trusty Takamine Signature Model Takamine EF250TK through its paces.
