Mary Sarah Carries the Torch
If you are a fan of "The Voice" you will recognize the super talented, 21 year old singer songwriter Mary Sarah as one of the last
standing contestants from this most recent season of "The Voice". But true country fans know the beautiful Tulsa native as duet partner
of Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Ray Price, Tanya Tucker, Lynn Anderson, The Oakridge Boys, Freddy Powers, Ronnie Milsap,
Big and Rich, Vince Gill and Neil Sedaka on her 2014 album "Bridges".
Mary Sarah had been steeped in the legacy of these country icons her entire life, but was dismayed to learn many of her classmates and
peers were much less familiar. So at age 16 with the help of key industry supporters, she began the process of arranging and recording
duets with each of these legends, a project that would span the next 3 years. Considering that in that short time we have lost Ray Price,
Lynn Anderson, Merle Haggard and most recently the great Freddy Powers, we are indebted to Mary Sarah and her team for capturing these
classic performances when they did.
Takamine guitars have been in Mary Sarah’s family for a while. Her father Todd, also a player, has owned an
EF341SC and
TSF48C for years.
So when Blake Shelton presented his fellow Oklahoman with a Tak P3MC, it’s safe to say she was anxious to show her dad. The cedar top,
satin finish OM cutaway suits her exceptionally well and has since become a staple of her live performances. Good call coach.
In tandem with her touring and recording, Mary Sarah has served as spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
and currently is the National Ambassador for Caiden's Hope, raising awareness for Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) for families
with children in financial needs due to extended illness for the premature babies. We are pleased and honored to welcome Mary Sarah to
